SHOULD MAL WRITE MY LETTER?
Yes, if...
You plan to major in computer science or a closely related class in college
You've taken a class with him for at least a full year already
You got an "A" in his classes, or at least consistently had a "B" or higher
You've actually interacted with him or done work that makes an impression beyond, "this was a student in my class."
No, if...
You're majoring in a totally unrelated field
You are just starting your first class with Mal OR he only taught you in your freshman year
Your grades in his class were a C or lower
You blended into the crowd and never really interacted
HOW TO REQUEST A LETTER
1) Ask In Person
Informally talk to Mr. M during the Spring of the prior year or the first few days of school and make sure he'd be willing to write you a letter of reference.
2) Reference Request Form
Mr. M has a brief request form he requires you to fill out before writing a letter. It asks you for a few details about achievements to help him personalize your letter.
3) Xello Submission
Submit your request to Mr. M by Xello. If you're having trouble with this step, please see your counselor for more information.
DUE DATES AND DELIVERY
Request by September 30th
By thus date, you must have submitted both the form and naviance request. This is a HARD DEADLINE. If you do not submit by this date, you will need to find another teacher to write the letter.
Completed by October 15th
Mal promises your reference form and letter with be submitted in Naviance by October 15st.
